Letter from the Director,

Philanthropy, private giving for the public good, isn’t just for the very wealthy. Many of us give our time, skills, energy and money to make North Central Washington a better place to live, work and play. This shared generosity in all its forms is what enlivens our sense of community and connects our lives to others. Indeed, no matter how you choose to give – education, health, recreation, the arts – we can all agree that to make our community whole we must support all its different parts. That’s the vision that inspired us to establish the CFNCW: by focusing on the long-term needs of our entire community, our foundation helps connect individual acts of caring with unmet community needs, enabling us all to work together in improving North Central Washington. Funds held by our foundation are set up by local individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit agencies.

Our donors are diverse and unrelated, sharing only a desire to do something good for their community. Some share our vision of supporting the long-term needs of North Central Washington. Others bring specific dreams to us: to fund a scholarship in memory of a loved one; to support a local arts community; to provide long-term support to one or more favorite groups. Without a local community foundation, many donors have no easy way to realize these dreams. Participation in a community foundation helps raise the level of local giving, which in turn improves the quality of life in the communities we serve. It is our distinct honor to serve our donors and our communities. We hope you will join us in shaping the future of our beautiful region by considering a legacy gift of your choice!
