Lee Bofto Honorary Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of
Wenatchee High School who participated
in athletics or served the WHS athletic
department in some capacity (be sure to
address the involvement in your personal
statement). Applicant must
have at least a 2.5 GPA and passed the WASL
or equivalent exam. Based on
demonstrated financial need.
Brewster Mike Marin Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of Brewster High School enrolled in an accredited educational program. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance.
Brewster High School Rawson Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of Brewster High School enrolled in an accredited educational program. Award based upon need, potential and scholastic ability, not necessarily demonstrated solely by grades, to a promising student who displays strong moral character and integrity. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance.
Cancer Care/Betsy Tontini Nursing Scholarship.
Awarded to a graduating senior from a
Chelan or Douglas County high school who
plans to study nursing at Wenatchee
Valley College. Must have at least a 3.0
GPA, significant financial need and
proven leadership ability
demonstrated through participation in
community service and extracurricular
activities. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance.
Chelan County Fire District #1 Volunteer Association Scholarship. Two scholarships, one dedicated to the Chelan County Fire District #1 and one to the Chelan Douglas County Firefighters Association. Awarded to a member or retired member in good standing of the
Association for at least one year or to a spouse, child
or grandchild of a member. Relationship to
the Fire District must be included
in the personal statement. Running Start
students may apply.
Rudolph and Carolyn Christianson Scholarship.
Awarded to a graduating senior of a
Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan County high
school who demonstrates promise and potential in their
studies, major, leadership abilities and
career choice. Selection committee may ask
for a personal interview.
Cone Family Scholarship. Awarded to a
Chelan High School graduating senior
who will attend an accredited 4-year
college or university. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance.
Melvin P.'Mel' and Lyndell Crowder NCW Memorial Horticulture Scholarship, $500. Awarded to a student enrolled in the Tree Fruit Production Program at WVC or Tree Fruit Management in the Horticulture Program at WSU.
Possible renewal upon reapplication and
acceptance.
Kelly Darlington-Winton School Scholarship,
$250. Awarded to a graduating senior at Cascade High School who attended Winton Elementary School.
Personal statement must show the years
you attended Winton Elementary School.
Eric De Persio Memorial Scholarship,
$1,000. Awarded to a graduating senior of Wenatchee or Westside High School. Based on need, potential and scholastic ability to a promising student who has demonstrated significant improvement academically and/or has overcome obstacles during high school.
Doell Family Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of a
Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan County high
school. Based on need, grades and potential scholastic ability.
Students majoring in journalism or music
are given priority.
Douglas County Waste Management
Environment Studies College Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of a
Douglas County high school seeking
further education in the area of
environmental sciences and/or
environmental engineering.
Fern Cousineau Duncan Art Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior of a
Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan County high school. Must be pursuing
art as a career, not just as a hobby. Candidates are required to present a portfolio of a minimum of 10 pieces.

Henry Max Galbraith / East
Wenatchee Grange No. 1012 Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior
who is a Douglas County resident
enrolled in an ag or ag-related field of
study at Wenatchee Valley College.
Possible renewal with reapplication and
acceptance.
Fisk and Lila Gerhardt Scholarship.
Two year scholarship awarded to a graduating senior of Wenatchee High School. Must have GPA of 3.8 and plan to attend a 4-year college or university.
Second year contingent upon a successful
first year, reapplication and acceptance.
Virgil V. & Pearl E. Gustin Scholarship.
Two-year scholarship available to
graduating seniors of Mansfield and
Waterville High Schools. Second
year renewal contingent upon
reapplication and successful completion
of first year.
Jack and Dede Hill WSU Exchange
Club Scholarship. Awarded to
a senior graduating from Wenatchee High
School seeking further education at
Washington State University. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance.
Roy W. Hill Music Scholarship. Two $16,000 scholarships awarded at $4,000
per year to graduating seniors, one from
a Chelan County high school and one from
a Douglas County high school. Must
be a full-time student majoring in
music. 40 hours community service
each year and continuing as a full-time
music major are required to keep award in
place for the following three years.
Keyes Fibre Corporation/Don Evenhus Scholarship. Awarded to dependent children (up to age 26) of current employees at the Molded Fibre Plant in Wenatchee.
Application also available at Keyes Fibre office.
Stella Knobel & Mary Jean Carter
Scholarship. Awarded to a
graduating senior or a nontraditional
student from Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan
County who is enrolled full-time in an
accredited educational program in the
USA with a major or minor in music.
Applicant must be a passionate and
experienced organist or pianist, with
organists having priority.
LeMaster/Auvil
Scholarship. Open to
graduating seniors from Chelan, Eastmont
and Waterville High Schools who are
enrolled in a post-secondary educational
institution in Washington State.
Mission Scholarship. An
annual travel award for a graduating
senior of a Chelan or Douglas county
high school traveling to Latin America to provide community
service through a qualified church or
501(c)(3) public charity. Be sure
to address your plans for a mission trip
in your personal statement. Must
complete the service within one year of
award date.
Clarence and Della Murray Scholarship.
Two-year scholarship for a graduating
senior of a Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan
county high school. Based on unmet
need and potential scholastic ability to a
student displaying strong moral
character and integrity. Second year
contingent upon a successful first year
and a 2.5 minimum GPA.
Hal Newman Memorial Music Scholarship, $2,000. Awarded to a graduating senior of Wenatchee High School who will major in the field of vocal or instrumental music.
NCW Italian Heritage Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating
senior from a Chelan, Douglas or
Okanogan County high school with
financial need who has been accepted as
a full-time student in an accredited
higher education program.
Applicant or a legal family member must
be of Italian heritage/descent and that
heritage must be addressed in the personal
statement. Recommendation must be
from a teacher and a civic leader
or business person.
Okanogan Masonic Lodge #169 Herbert and Elizabeth Davis Scholarship. Awarded to a
senior graduating from an Okanogan County
high school.
Paine Electronic Engineering Scholarship,
$10,000.
Four-year scholarship paid at $2,500
each year to a
graduating senior of Eastmont or
Wenatchee High School majoring in
mechanical or electrical engineering.
Applicant must have a GPA of at least
3.0 and demonstrated financial need.
Must continue to major in mechanical or
electrical engineering and have a
successful academic year to keep the
award in place for the following three
years.
Tanner J. Perry Memorial
Scholarship. Awarded to
a graduating senior of Cashmere High
School who is enrolled in an accredited
educational program. Students
pursuing a field related to science
and/or math will be given preference.
A commitment to extracurricular
activities such as cross country,
leadership and/or knowledge bowl is
required. A letter of
recommendation from one educator
AND one family member or community
member is required to ensure
this award goes to a student displaying
strong moral character and demonstrated
compassion and concern for others.
Roki Veterinary Technician
Scholarship. Awarded to
a graduating senior of a Chelan, Douglas
or Okanogan County High School who has
been accepted to any veterinary
technician program.
Katie Rolfs Memorial Scholarship, $500.
Awarded to a graduating senior from
Chelan High School who is a worthy
student but one that would not meet
eligibility requirements for most
scholarships.
Nick Schoffen Music Scholarship.
Awarded to a graduating senior from
Eastmont High School who is pursuing
further education in the area of music.
Melonye Shurtz Memorial Scholarship,
$1,500.
Awarded to a graduating senior from
Eastmont High School with a minimum GPA
of 3.0, seeking further education in a
service-related occupation such as
teaching, medical, social work, etc. Instead of a
personal statement, applicant must
submit an essay of not more than 300
words on the subject "What difference
can one person with a caring heart
make?"
Silver Star Scholarship, $500. Two scholarships
- one to a graduating senior from Chelan
High School and one to a graduating
senior from Manson High School.
Successful applicants will have been a
resident of Washington for at least one
year prior to graduation from high
school, be a U.S. citizen or legal
resident, have a GPA of at least 2.5 and
plans to attend a university, state
college or vocational school.
Note: Applications are
eliminated if they do not include
two recommendations from community
leaders and one from a school
official.
Bob and Valerie Valaas Scholarship. Awarded to a graduating senior
of Wenatchee or Westside High School who
plans to enter the Health Science
program at Wenatchee Valley College.
Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and
demonstrated financial need and concern
for others.
Wenatchee Bowling Association
Scholarship.
For a graduating senior who has been
accepted to the school of their choice
or is a previous recipient of this
scholarship in their first year of college.
Graduating seniors on the Wenatchee High
School or Eastmont High School bowling
teams may apply; however, priority will
be given to an applicant who has
current, active participation in the
Wenatchee Valley USBC youth bowling
program, including bowling in a youth
sanctioned league. Based on being
an outstanding member of youth bowling,
demonstrated leadership abilities,
bowling achievements, scholastic
achievements and citizenship.
Wenatchee High School Alumni Foundation Scholarship. For graduating seniors from Wenatchee High School. Based on financial need, academic performance
and formal test results.
SAT scores must be included.
Possible renewal with reapplication and
acceptance.
Wenatchee High School Alumni
Class of 1952 Leadership Scholarship.
For graduating seniors from Wenatchee
High School with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Based on
demonstrated leadership qualities and
financial need. Personal
statement must address leadership
skills.
Wenatchee Rotary Foundation Scholarship.
$3,500 per year up to 4 years.
Maximum scholarship amount is $14,000.
2 or 3 scholarships awarded to
graduating seniors of Eastmont,
Wenatchee or Westside High School or to
a Wenatchee Valley College student
seeking further education as a full-time
student. Must have a GPA of 2.5
throughout high school or at WVC.
Based on need, involvement in
extracurricular activities, leadership
and academic performance.
Particular attention will be paid to
demonstrated service to others
including school, community, church and
family. Once awarded, the
scholarship is renewed annually with
demonstrated success in student's
respective academic field.
Wenatchee Valley Street Rods Scholarship.
Not offered in 2009.
Wenatchee Women's Bowling Association - Opal Wickland Scholarship.
For a graduating senior who has been
accepted to the school of their choice
or is a previous recipient of this
scholarship in their first year of college.
Graduating seniors on the Wenatchee High
School or Eastmont High School bowling
teams may apply; however, priority will
be given to an applicant who has
current, active participation in the
Wenatchee Valley USBC youth bowling
program, including bowling in a youth
sanctioned league. Based on being
an outstanding member of youth bowling,
demonstrated leadership abilities,
bowling achievements, scholastic

Grace Motteler Ekman Whitley
Scholarship. Awarded to a
graduating senior from Leavenworth,
Manson, Tonasket and Wenatchee High
Schools with a GPA of 2.5 - 3.5.
Successful candidates will be those who,
though not having the highest grades,
show perseverance, commitment and a
determination to improve their future
through education. Applicants
should focus on their motivation for
academic improvement in the personal
statement.
Andrew York Memorial Scholarship.
Awarded to a graduating senior from any
high school in Washington State who
has been active in the community,
specifically in drug and alcohol
prevention or awareness. Must be
accepted into an accredited college,
university or trade school, show
financial need and participation in
community, school and / or church
activities.

Altrusa Club of Wenatchee Scholarship,
$1,000.
Two-year award paid at $500 each year for a female Wenatchee Valley College graduate enrolled at a 4-year college or university.
Second year is contingent upon
reapplication and a successful first
year.

Presbyterian Church Scholarship.
Awarded to a Wenatchee Valley College
graduate majoring in English at a 4-year
college or university.
NCW Italian Heritage Scholarship, Awarded to a graduating
senior from a Chelan, Douglas or
Okanogan County high school with
financial need who has been accepted as
a full-time student in an accredited
higher education program or to a
full-time Wenatchee Valley College
student.
Applicant or a legal family member must
be of Italian heritage/descent and that

statement. Recommendation must be

Dorothy Prewitt Pohlman / AAUW Scholarship,
$1,500. Three non-renewable
scholarships. Awarded on the basis
of merit and need to a female student
from Wenatchee Valley College who is
pursuing a bachelor's degree at a 4-year
college in Washington State. Must
have a minimum of 60 credits from
Wenatchee Valley College to qualify;
completion of an associate degree is not
required. Successful candidates
will begin their work at the 4-year
school in the fall of 2009.
