Santillanes saved the lives of many by working tirelessly through gang outreach, as a student guidance counselor, as a community organizer for Yakima County Substance Abuse Coalition, and as a student retention specialist at A.C. Davis High School. This scholarship is available to Hispanic high school seniors from Yakima Valley. March 1st
Alice Malloy Ruud Scholarship
Alice Ruud, as Waterville School Librarian for over 30 years, loved matching students with books creating many enthusiastic readers. Her next service was a career advisor challenging students to think about ‘what they would like to be when they grew up’ and providing college and scholarship information to make that happen. Alice inspired countless students to continue their education at Universities, Community Colleges and Trade Schools. This scholarship was created in her memory to help Waterville High School Seniors achieve their dreams for continued education.March 1st
Altrusa Club of Wenatchee ScholarshipThe Altrusa Club of Wenatchee Alumni believe in the education of women and want to help women graduates of Wenatchee Valley College who are committed to continuing education in their chosen field. This scholarship is available to female students who will graduate or have graduated from Wenatchee Valley College and will continue on to a four-year college or university.

This scholarship is renewable.

Andrew York Memorial ScholarshipThis scholarship was established by Chelan County PUD employees to honor the memory of a co-worker, Andrew York, who was killed in a tragic accident. This scholarship is available to Washington State high school seniors who are active in advocating against impaired driving.March 1st
Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching ScholarshipMrs. Martin taught high school in Pullman before moving to Wenatchee, where she was the head of the English Department at Wenatchee Valley College. This scholarship is available to students who will graduate from Wenatchee Valley College and continue on to a four-year college or university.

AVHRA Human Resource ScholarshipThe Apple Valley Human Resource Association provides leadership, resources, training, education, and networking opportunities through local chapter activites and affiliations with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA). This scholarship is available to high school seniors and current college students from Chelan, Douglas, or Okanogan Counties who are pursuing a career in human resources. March 1st
Bob and Nita Paine ScholarshipThis scholarship was established by the Paine Family in 2012, This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Wenatchee or Eastmont High Schools who plan to attend Washington State University. March 1st
Bob and Valerie Valaas Health Sciences ScholarshipBob and Valerie Valaas recognized the need for well-trained medical personnel in the Wenatchee Valley. Bob served on the Central Washington Hospital Board of Directors, and they had several children and grandchildren who served the medical community. This scholarship is available to high school seniors or previous graduates of Wenatchee or Westside High Schools who plan to enroll in the Allied Health program at Wenatchee Valley College.June 1st
Bolyard Family Nursing ScholarshipThis scholarship is available to second-year nursing students at Wenatchee Valley College.June 1st
Brewster High School Rawson ScholarshipIn October 1995, Julie Rawson, a Brewster High School teacher, received the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award of $25,000. The following year, she established the Brewster High School Rawson Scholarship and the Brewster Mike Marin Scholarship. This scholarship is available to Brewster High School seniors.

Brewster Mike Marin Memorial ScholarshipIn October 1995, Julie Rawson, a Brewster High School teacher, received the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award of $25,000. The following year, she established the Brewster High School Rawson Scholarship and the Brewster Mike Marin Scholarship. This scholarship is available to Brewster High School seniors.

Brock Lindberg Pi Kappa Phi ScholarshipBrock Lindberg was a student at Washington State University and a proud Pi Kappa Phi member – serving as Scholarship Fund Chairman of his chapter. Brock’s mother, Janna Viebrock, established the Brock Lindberg Pi Kappa Phi Scholarship to honor Brock’s educational goals and help Brock’s current and future fraternity brothers at Pi Kappa Phi.April 22nd
Bud & Donna Corbin ScholarshipBud and Donna Corbin were long-time members of First Presbyterian Church of Wenatchee (now Saddlerock Evangelical Presbyterian Church) and desired to encourage and financially help students of the congregation. This scholarship is available to high school seniors who are affiliated with Saddlerock Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Cakes for College ScholarshipIn 1995, as a senior at Wenatchee High School, Ben Paine received a scholarship from the Community Foundation. As an adult, Ben and his family chose to give back to the community that gave to him by raising money for local students to attend college. The Keep it in the Valley Foundation's 150 volunteers sell funnel cakes at the Apple Blossom food fair each year and donate all the proceeds to this scholarship fund. This scholarships is available to high school seniors from Cashmere, Eastmont, River Academy, Wenatchee, or Westside High Schools (or home-schooled seniors from those districts) who will attend Wenatchee Valley College.

Camp Fire NCW ScholarshipCamp Fire NCW Council has served youth since opening in 1912, making the organization one of the most successful and deeply rooted youth-development organizations in our community. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, or Adams Counties who've been involved with Camp Fire NCW for a minimum of two years and are currently active with the Council in some capacity.

Cancer Care / Betsy Tontini Nursing ScholarshipThis scholarship was established in 2000 to honor the memory of a Betsy Tontini, a Wenatchee nurse who touched numerous lives with her warm and special caring. Betsy was instrumental in organizing Cancer Care of North Central Washington as well as founding “Our House”, a home for out-of-the-area patients to stay while receiving treatment. This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors from Chelan or Douglas Counties or current Wenatchee Valley College students who will enroll or are enrolled in the nursing program at Wenatchee Valley College.

Carol Cooper Nursing ScholarshipThe Carol Cooper Nursing Scholarship that aims to support students pursuing an RN or BSN degree at Wenatchee Valley College.June 1st
Cascade and Chelan School Districts ELL ScholarshipThe Cascade and Chelan School Districts ELL Scholarship provides financial support for students from the Cascade and Chelan School Districts and for whom English is a second language. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Cascade or Chelan High Schools who have passed the Washington Language Proficiency Test.

Cashmere Rotary Club Academic ScholarshipWith the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” in mind, Cashmere Rotary Club serves the local community as well as the local schools and invests in our future leaders by funding scholarships for Cashmere High School seniors who are pursuing higher education. The ideal candidate is well-rounded with leadership qualities and emphasis on service, academic strength, and participation in school and community activities. March 1st

The ideal candidate is well-rounded with leadership qualities and emphasis on service, academic strength, and participation in school and community activities who has overcome a personal challenge or obstacle to achieve success in education.March 1st
Cashmere Rotary Club Vocational/Technical ScholarshipWith the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” in mind, Cashmere Rotary Club serves the local community as well as the local schools and invests in our future leaders by funding scholarships for Cashmere High School seniors including those who are continuing their education through Vocational or Technical training. The ideal candidate is well-rounded with leadership qualities, an emphasis on service, and participation in school and community activities whose post-graduation plans include choosing a field that requires a two-year training and/or educational program.March 1st
Cashmere Schools Foundation Renewal ScholarshipOnly previous recipients of a Cashmere Schools Foundation Scholarship may apply for this scholarship. Students must be currently enrolled in a technical/trade school, college, or university and planning to continue their studies in the coming fall.March 1st
Cashmere Schools Foundation ScholarshipThe Cashmere Schools Foundation offers multiple scholarships to graduating seniors of Cashmere High School with a single application.

Cathryn "Kate" George Frechen ScholarshipThe Cathryn “Kate” George Frechen Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by Kay Sparks, niece of Cathryn “Kate” George Frechen, in her aunt’s memory. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools in Pewamo, Michigan. March 1st
Chelan County Cattlemen's ScholarshipThe Chelan County Cattlemen’s Association raised funds and created this scholarship to help students pursuing an education in the field of agriculture. This scholarship is available to high school seniors or previous graduates from any Chelan County high school who plan to or are studying agriculture or related fields. March 1st
Chelan County Fire District #1 Volunteer Association ScholarshipThe Chelan County Fire District #1 Volunteer Association Scholarship was established in 1993. This scholarship was created thanks to the fundraising activities of the Chelan County Fire District #1 Volunteers who had a desire to provide scholarships in perpetuity for members or relatives of members of the Association. This scholarship is available to students who are members or related to members of the department or association.

Clarence and Della Murray ScholarshipMrs. Della Murray started this scholarship in memory of her husband, Clarence, who died in 1997, and who was an accountant for 42 years at S&M Service for “Jeep” Miller. Mrs. Murray died in 2007 at age 94. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties. It is paid over two years, pending a student's successful academic progress.March 1st
Cone Family ScholarshipThe Cone Family Scholarship was established by Judge Charles E. Cone in honor of his father Charles E. Cone, a former Superintendent and teacher at Chelan High School, and his mother, Victoria J. Cone. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan High School.

Wenatchee Valley Medical Group and Confluence Health Employee ScholarshipOpen to employees or family members of employees of Confluence Health or Wenatchee Valley Medical Group seeking any type of trade, community college, certificate or four-year university education. at qualifying institutions. Preference given in the following order 1) employees, 2) children of employees and 3) first degree relatives of employees. Additional preference will be giving to those pursuing healthcare or healthcare related training.March 1st
Cruz Andrist Memorial ScholarshipThis Scholarship is offered to Honor the Life and Memory of a truly exceptional and intelligent young man named Cruz Abraham Andrist who passed away in 2021 after open heart surgery to correct congenital heart defects.

We bring honor to Cruz’s contributions by recognizing and demonstrating the value of joy, harmony, and a thoughtfully intelligent approach to life and the opportunities it presents. The Cruz Andrist Memorial Scholarship emphasizes these characteristics in the application criteria listed below. Please use them to show how you have and will continue to emphasize them on your career path.

David M Bohr Memorial Baseball ScholarshipThis scholarship fund was established by memorial gifts in honor of David M. Bohr, a long-time Wenatchee attorney and judge pro-term in Chelan. David led many youth activities throughout the Wenatchee Valley but baseball was his true love.March 1st
deRubertis Family ScholarshipThe deRubertis family established a scholarship in 2016 to support graduating seniors of Cashmere High School in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. This scholarship is paid over multiple years, pending a student's successful academic progress.March 1st
Doell Family ScholarshipThe children of Bill and Mildred Doell (pronounced “Dell”) wanted their parents to be remembered for their high ideals and service to North Central Washington. The Doells both grew up and worked in Wenatchee & Eastern Washington. Mrs. Doell was a teacher and Mr. Doell owned his own business for over 50 years. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties who will major in journalism, music, or a related field.March 1st
Don and Rita Campbell ScholarshipInspired by Rita Campbell, who returned to college and received her degree after raising their three sons, this scholarship supports non-traditional students returning to school in Washington State.March 1st
Dorothy Prewitt Pohlman / AAUW ScholarshipDorothy Prewitt Pohlman was one of the founders of Wenatchee Valley College. As part of her legacy, she created this scholarship, which is administered by the American Association of University Women. This scholarship is available to current or former female students from Wenatchee Valley College who have plans to pursue a Bachelor's degree at a four-year college.

Douglas County Waste Management Environmental Studies College ScholarshipThis scholarship was established in 2005 to support Douglas County students seeking further education in environmental engineering or the area of environmental sciences. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Douglas County who will major in environmental sciences or environmental engineering. March 1st
Dr Don Fager Nursing ScholarshipThis scholarship is awarded to current or previous Wenatchee Valley College nursing students seeking further education in a nursing program at an accredited school in the United States of America. June 1st
Dr. N. K. Bhide Band ScholarshipEstablished by the Bhide family, this scholarship encourages students in their love of learning and applauds students who uphold the Golden Apple Marching Band principles of hard work and discipline. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Wenatchee High School who've participated in the Golden Apple Marching Band for at least one year.

Dr. Patrick Molloy Migrant ScholarshipThis scholarship was established in 2017 by the will of Dr. Patrick Molloy. It is available to Chelan High School seniors and alumni who qualified for migrant programs.

Dr. Steven G. Kerr Memorial Medical ScholarshipFrom an early age, Steve Kerr aspired to be a doctor; fortunately he was granted a scholarship to allow him the opportunity to complete medical school. He devoted his entire life to medicine, his number one passion. This scholarship is available to nontraditional students (those who are returning to studies after a break in education) who plan to or are enrolled in the Allied Health program at Wenatchee Valley College.June 1st
Duane Kaasa Makers ScholarshipStudents seeking a field of study in the "makers" field of welding, machining, auto mechanics, aviation or train maintenance or engineering. Preference given to any veteran, currently residing, or graduate of any high school in Chelan or Douglas counties.March 1st
Eddie Bromiley Memorial ScholarshipThe Eddie Bromiley Scholarship was created to honor his life by helping students that are continuing their education in the same direction that he did. Graduating seniors or returning students having graduated from any High School in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Kittitas or Grant counties can apply for this scholarship if they will be attending a trade school or a field of study limited to technical programs. Preference given to applicants who have participated in FFA or rodeo activities.June 1st
Edna Fast Maguire Kappa Delta Sorority ScholarshipThe Edna Fast Maguire Kappa Delta Sorority Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor Edna Fast Maguire's commitment to her alma mater, Washington State University and devoted service to Kappa Delta. Education was always important to Edna. She started her early education years traveling by horse and buggy to a one room schoolhouse, then attended high school in Ritzville before graduating from Washington State University in 1942 with a BS in business and as a proud member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Edna continued the philanthropic ways that were encouraged from her years with Kappa Delta throughout her entire life. This scholarship is awarded to a collegiate Panhellenic woman who has worked to further her fraternal community’s reputation on her campus and who embodies the values of sisterhood, philanthropy and scholarship.May 1st
Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine ScholarshipThe Edna Fast Maguire WSU School of Veterinary Medicine Scholarship was established in 2019 to honor Edna Fast Maguire's commitment to her alma mater, Washington State University. Edna's first husband, Robert "Bob" R. Fast graduated from WSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1942 and married Edna in 1944. Edna and Bob moved to Hermiston, OR and opened and operated the Hermiston Veterinary Hospital. Bob passed in 1960 and Edna continued their business until 1996. They honored their lifelong love for animals by endowing a research lab at the WSU School of Veterinary Medicine and wanted to continue a legacy of philanthropic giving by starting this scholarship to be awarded to a student attending veterinary school at WSU.April 1st

Eric DePersio Memorial ScholarshipEric DePersio was an outstanding student at Wenatchee High School, a golfer, and a downhill skier. Unfortunately, he died in a tragic boating accident in 1991. His parents, Dr. Edward and Pamela DePersio, established this fund in 1991. This scholarship is available to a high school student from Wenatchee or WestSide High School.March 1st
Everett & Roy Hill Music ScholarshipEverett Hill was often described as a free thinker who wanted to make his community a better place. He wasn’t afraid to think outside of the box and find creative ways to see his ideas come to life. Mr. Hill established this scholarship as a way to help students who shared the love he and his brother Roy had for music. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan Counties who plan to pursue studies in music. It is paid over two years, pending a student's successful academic progress.March 1st
Ferguson Family ScholarshipThe Ferguson Family Scholarship was established to provide educational scholarships to graduating seniors, current college students, or non-traditional students returning to school from Chelan or Douglas county and pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science Engineering Technology (BAS-ET) at Wenatchee Valley College. The Ferguson family is dedicated to helping students with financial need and a commitment to engineering with a four-year scholarship to Wenatchee Valley College. This scholarship is paid over multiple years, pending a student's successful academic progress.March 1st
Fern Cousineau Duncan Art ScholarshipMrs. Duncan was an art teacher at Wenatchee High School from 1929 to 1959. She also taught at Wenatchee Valley College until she retired. This scholarship was established by her will. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from North Central Washington who are pursuing a career in the field of art. March 1st
Ferne Daniel ScholarshipFerne Daniel, daughter of the late William H. and Fairrie Daniel, who farmed on the Sagebrush Flats near Ephrata, established this scholarship in 1991. Miss Daniel taught school first in Wenatchee in 1944 at the Whitman School, and then in Ephrata from 1946 through 1970. She passed away in 2007. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Ephrata High School who plan to study education, agriculture, or related fields.

FH Vinecore Memorial ScholarshipTo provide scholarships to Douglas County students who shall attend Washington State University with residents of the Orondo area of Douglas County, WA receiving "first consideration". Preference will also be given to those who major in Horticulture or Business Administration. March 1st
Fisk and Lila Gerhardt ScholarshipMrs. Lila Gerhardt's will established this fund. Mrs. Gerhardt was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Fisk Gerhardt, who was a Plant Physiologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Wenatchee. Dr. Gerhardt was also a lifetime member of the Wenatchee Lodge 1186, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. The Gerhardts had no children of their own but held a lifelong interest in all children of the community. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Wenatchee High School. This scholarship is paid over two years, pending a student's successful academic progress. March 1st
Gene "Sarge" Huber Band ScholarshipGene "Sarge" Huber, band director at Wenatchee High School for 29 years, was described by a school superintendent in this way: "A great definition of love is someone who helps people gain victories without them knowing you have helped them. A lot of kids are out there with victories because of Sarge.” This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Wenatchee High School who consistently participated in Golden Apple Band, Jazz Band, or Wind Ensemble.March 1st
Gerald E. Robinson Memorial ScholarshipThe Gerald E. Robinson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 to honor Gerald "Jerry" Robinson's love of animals.  Jerry Robinson was a resident of Okanogan County and was well known for loving his dogs and caring for them better than himself.  It is only just, and Jerry's wish, that the Gerald E. Robinson Scholarship be used to assist others who wish to love animals as he did.  This scholarship supports college students who are enrolled in a qualified veterinary or pre-veterinary program.March 1st
Gil and Kay Sparks ScholarshipThe Gil and Kay Sparks Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 by their friends to recognize their long-standing involvement in the Wenatchee Valley community. Described as, "two highly effective and prolific community builders, who with little fanfare and great humility, have made enormous contributions to civic life in the (Wenatchee) valley. They leave us with not only a legacy of contribution but as an example of how anyone and everyone can make a positive difference".March 1st
Grace Ekman Whitley ScholarshipGrace Ekman Whitley taught school in Leavenworth, Manson, Tonasket, and Wenatchee High Schools. She had no children, but she loved the children in her classrooms as her own. This scholarship is available to high school students from Cascade, Manson, Tonasket, and Wenatchee High Schools.March 1st
Hal Newman Memorial Music ScholarshipThe Newman family established this scholarship in memory of their son, Hal, who passed away in a tragic accident in 1991. Hal attended Wenatchee High School, was a member of the National Honors Society, and was an outstanding music student. He sang tenor in the Chamber Singers group and had starring roles in several musical productions. This scholarship is available to high school students from Wenatchee High School who plan to study music.March 1st
Harry & Kathern Lovejoy ScholarshipImpacted by her father Harry's unfinished goal of graduating from college, Jane Lovejoy established this scholarship to assist students with the desire to complete their education. Harry was able to send Jane to Washington State University, where she completed a degree in education and became a premiere teacher and librarian. This scholarship is available to students with third-year status who plan to attend Washington State University and study agriculture.

Henry Max Galbraith / East Wenatchee Grange No. 1012 ScholarshipHenry Max Galbraith was a fruit rancher in East Wenatchee and a longtime member of East Wenatchee Grange. He served as Master of the East Wenatchee Grange for several years and also served in many positions within the East Wenatchee Grange and the Douglas County Pomona Grange. This scholarship is available to high school seniors or recent graduates from Douglas County who plan to or are studying agriculture or Allied Health at Wenatchee Valley College.

Howard and Beverly Murray Memorial ScholarshipHoward Murray spent his life teaching and motivating students in the field of chemistry. This scholarship is available to high school seniors from Chelan and Douglas Counties who plan to study math or science.March 1st
Inga, Magnus, and Knute Bakke Memorial ScholarshipThe Inga, Magnus and Knute Bakke Memorial Scholarship was established in 2019 to support students from the town of Leavenworth where Knute Aksel Bakke was born and raised. In 1953, Knute graduated from Leavenworth High School, where he had been a valued member of the ski team. After some time as a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea, Knute returned home where he worked at the Leavenworth Ranger Station and retired after fulfilling his 30 years of service. He will be fondly remembered for his enthusiasm for golf, his colorful personality and this thoughtful legacy to his community. This scholarship supports graduating seniors or past graduates from Cascade High School seeking further education in an accredited trade, apprentice or certificate program in the US.June 1st
J.D. Riggs Memorial ScholarshipThe Riggs family established this scholarship in 2012 to honor the memory and life of their son, J.D. Riggs. J.D. was a 2009 graduate of WHS and a gifted singer and actor. The scholarship supports graduating seniors from Wenatchee High School who are pursuing further education in the field of performing arts – especially acting or singing. The ideal applicant is one (or all) of the following; an outstanding singer, actor, involved in the instrumental arts program (band, mariachi, or orchestra), as well as an inspiring leader, and has a strong will to succeed.March 1st
Jack and Dede Hill WSU Exchange Club ScholarshipJack Hill had a 31-year career in the Wenatchee School District. He started Parent Teacher Conferences in the Wenatchee Schools and served as Superintendent for 11 years before retiring in 1983. Jack was a member of many professional and local organizations including the Wenatchee Exchange Club. He, his wife Dede, and the Wenatchee Exchange Club established this fund. This scholarship is available to Wenatchee High School seniors who plan to attend Washington State University.

James Elwyn Memorial ScholarshipThe James Elwyn Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 by his beloved wife, Kathy, family and friends in remembrance of James’s long-standing involvement in the Wenatchee Valley swimming community. James was a much-loved social studies teacher at Wenatchee High School, as well as the coach for both girls’ and boys’ swim teams. He had the privilege of coaching each of his three children; Kayli, Connor and Austin. James lead multiple boys and girls swim teams to top ten finishes at Sate and was named Coach of the Year by several organizations. Kathryn Lodge Mhatre Creative Writing ScholarshipKathryn was a 2004 Wenatchee High School graduate who had a passion for reading and writing and was a life-long learner. She loved the outdoors, hiking in the forest with Hy, her beloved black lab, a companion of nearly fifteen years. Kathryn also enjoyed helping others, and it is in that spirit that this scholarship was established in 2023 by her parents in her memory. He was a leader in the apple industry and remained active even after his retirement in 1985. Opal Wickland was a top bowler in the Wenatchee WBA during 1960s and 1970s. The association has been adding to the fund each year. This scholarship is available to high school seniors in the Wenatchee Valley who have participated in bowling or have family members in the WVUSBC.

Renewal is possible; recipients must reapply and compete with new applicants.

The grant provided funds to hire a Housing Justice and Outreach Coordinator to visit rural and underserved areas. Rosie’s bilingual and bicultural skills and experience have increased equity of service. Rosie is building partnerships with local organizations through events such as the Columbia Valley Community Health’s Back to School Drive, as well as posting yard signs.

I plan on starting a career with the Chelan PUD with a passion for renewable energy and in turn give back to my parents and community for supporting my dreams.
