Cancer Care / Betsy Tontini Nursing Scholarship

No. of Awards: Determined by committee

Amount: Determined by committee

Eligibility:

  1. Graduating senior of a Chelan or Douglas County High  School.
  2. Will study nursing at Wenatchee Valley College.
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  4. Demonstrates significant chance of success.
  5. Demonstrates proven leadership ability by participation in  community service and extracurricular activities.
Renewal: Possible.  Must reapply and will compete with new applicants.
Chelan County Fire District #1 Volunteer Association Scholarship

No. of Awards: Two.  One to the Chelan County Fire Department and one to the Chelan Douglas Firefighters Association

Amount: Determined by committee

Eligibility:

  1. Be a member or retired member in good standing of the Association for at least one year. OR
  2. Be a spouse, child or grandchild of a member.
  3. Relationship to the Fire District must be addressed in your personal statement.
  4. Running start students may apply.

Renewal: Possible.  Must reapply and will compete with new applicants.

Melvin P. 'Mel' & Lyndell Crowder NCW Memorial Horticulture Scholarship

No. of Awards: One

Amount: $500

Eligibility:

  1. Be enrolled in the Tree Fruit Projection Program at WVC. OR
  2. Be enrolled in the Tree Fruit Management in the Horticulture Program at WSU

Henry Max Galbraith / East Wenatchee Grange No. 1012 Scholarship

Eligibility:

  1. Must be a Douglas county resident.
  2. Must attend Wenatchee Valley College.
  3. Be enrolled in an ag or ag-related field of study. OR
  4. Be enrolled in Allied Health Sciences.

Dr. Steven G. Kerr Memorial Medical Scholarship

  1. Non-traditional student at Wenatchee Valley College.
  2. Must be enrolled in Allied Health Sciences.

Keyes Fibre Corporation / Don Evenhus Scholarship

Eligibility:

  1. Dependent children (up to age 26) of current employees of the Molded Fibre Plant in Wenatchee.

Arlene Birdsell Martin / First Presbyterian Church Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:

  1. Wenatchee Valley College graduate.
  2. Must be accepted at a U.S. 4-year college or university.
  3. Must intend to enter the teaching profession.
  4. Will be majoring in English or studying in a major in which English makes up a substantial part of the curriculum.

NCW Italian Heritage (Sons of Italy) Scholarship

Eligibility:

  1. Full-time Wenatchee Valley College student.
  2. Applicant or a legal family member must be of Italian heritage descent and that heritage must be addressed in the personal statement.
  3. Based on financial need.
  4. Important Note: Recommendations must be from a teacher and civic leader or business person.

AAUW / Dorothy Prewitt Pohlman Scholarship

Eligibility: (Note:  Deadline extended to April 1)

  1. Female student at Wenatchee Valley College.
  2. Must have completed a minimum of 60 credits at  Wenatchee Valley College (completion of an AA degree is not required).
  3. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at a 4-year college in Washington state.
  4. Successful candidate will begin work at the 4-year school in the fall of 2010.

Roki Veterinary Technician Scholarship

Wenatchee Rotary Foundation Scholarship

Eligibility:

  1. A Wenatchee Valley College student or a graduating senior of Eastmont, Wenatchee or Westside High School.
  2. Must be seeking further education as a full-time student.
  3. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA at Wenatchee Valley College or throughout high school.
  4. Based on need, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership and academic performance.
  5. Particular attention is paid to commitment of service to others including school, community church and family.

Renewal: Once awarded, scholarship is renewed annually with reapplication and demonstrated success in student's field of  study.

Wenatchee Valley Street Rods Scholarship

Eligibility:

  1. Wenatchee Valley College student.
  2. Must be enrolled in a medically related field.
  3. Must have maintained a good record of citizenship and responsibility and not have a public criminal record.
